Amla + Rosehips
Whole-fruit vitamin C, protected against the air and heat that degrade it. The one you’re looking at.

Herbosomal® patented technology · PI2023005773
A vitamin C tablet is one molecule made in a factory. Amla and rosehips are two of the most vitamin C-dense fruits on earth, and they arrive with everything that grew alongside it. We hold both in a patented phospholipid matrix so the fragile parts survive the shelf and the fat-soluble parts get absorbed.
200g pouch · 40–200 servings · free delivery in West Malaysia
Amla (Indian gooseberry) is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C known. Rosehips sit close behind, and bring carotenoids that amla doesn’t have. Between them you get the vitamin plus the polyphenols, tannins and pigments that grew with it — the parts a tablet leaves out.
The problem with vitamin C powder
Ascorbic acid is one of the least stable nutrients in food. Heat during drying, oxygen in the pouch, humidity in a Malaysian kitchen — each one degrades it. A fruit powder can be tested at packing and be worth noticeably less by the time you finish the bag.
How Herbosomal® works here
It protects. Each fruit particle is held inside a phospholipid carrier built from MCT oil and sunflower lecithin. That shell puts a physical layer between the vitamin C and the oxygen and moisture that degrade it.
It delivers. The parts of rosehips that are fat-soluble — carotenoids, galactolipids — are carried in a lipid form your gut is built to take up, instead of being washed past in water.

Side by side
Both say “vitamin C” on the label. They are not the same thing arriving in your body.
| Vitamin C tablet | Amla Rosehips Matrix | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it comes from | Ascorbic acid, synthesised industrially — usually from corn glucose. | Two whole fruits, dried and encapsulated. Nothing synthesised. |
| What comes with it | The molecule, plus binders, anti-caking agents and often sweeteners or colour. | The polyphenols, tannins and carotenoids that grew in the fruit alongside the vitamin C. |
| The dose | Frequently 1000mg — over ten times the daily value. Most of the excess is simply excreted. | 100mg per serving, 111% DV. A food-level amount you can take every day. |
| Fat-soluble compounds | None. Ascorbic acid is water-soluble and that’s the whole product. | Rosehip carotenoids carried in a phospholipid form built for lipid uptake. |
| Stability in the pack | Coated tablet, but once fruit powder is exposed it degrades with air and humidity. | Encapsulation puts a lipid layer between the actives and the air in your pouch. |
| How you take it | Swallow a tablet. High doses can be rough on an empty stomach. | Stir 1–5g into water, juice or a smoothie. It’s food, so it behaves like food. |
What’s inside
Amla Powder, Rosehips Powder, MCT Oil, Sunflower Lecithin, Arabic Gum, Starch, Silica.
Indian gooseberry, a cornerstone of Ayurvedic practice for centuries. One of the densest natural sources of vitamin C, and heavy in tannins and polyphenols.
The fruit left behind after a rose flowers. Brings vitamin C plus carotenoids and galactolipids that amla doesn’t carry.
The carrier system. These fats form the phospholipid shell around each particle — the mechanics of Herbosomal®, not filler.
Food-grade stabilisers that keep a fat-loaded powder free-flowing and shelf-stable. Nothing artificial, no sweeteners.
Per 5g serving: 20 kcal · 100mg vitamin C (111% DV) · 0g added sugar · 4.2g carbohydrate. Full panel on pack.
Daily use
One teaspoon a day covers your vitamin C. Go higher if you want more of the fruit compounds.
Water, orange juice, yoghurt, a smoothie. Skip boiling water — heat is the one thing vitamin C doesn’t survive.
Push the air out, close the zip, keep it in the fridge or somewhere cool and dry.
Why it says “Matrix” on the pack
Amla and rosehips are what we put into it. The Matrix is the phospholipid carrier system that holds them — and it works on any botanical that’s fragile, fat-soluble, or hard to absorb. Swap the actives, keep the delivery.
In the matrix

The same carrier solving the opposite problem: curcumin is notoriously hard to absorb, so the matrix is doing delivery work instead of protection.

Questions
Tart and slightly astringent — amla is genuinely sour, and rosehips are bright and a little floral. It is not sweetened. Most people mix it into juice, yoghurt or a smoothie rather than plain water.
Because 100mg already covers your daily requirement, and vitamin C is water-soluble — what your body doesn’t use, it excretes. We’re not competing on the size of the number. The value here is the fruit compounds that come with it, which a synthetic tablet has none of.
Better not to. Vitamin C degrades with heat, so anything near boiling works against the product. Cold or lukewarm liquids only.
Matrix refers to the phospholipid carrier system, not the fruits. Amla and rosehips are what sits inside it. The same carrier is used in our Turmeric Black Ginger Matrix with a different set of actives, and can be applied to other botanicals.
[EDIT — state your exact certification status. If you hold JAKIM certification, name it and show the logo. If it is pending, say so plainly. Do not leave this question off the page: for a large share of the Malaysian market it is the deciding question.]
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist first. Amla can interact with blood thinners and diabetes medication, and high vitamin C intake affects iron absorption. We don’t recommend it during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
It’s a fat-carrying powder, so it draws moisture. Clumping doesn’t affect quality — seal the pouch and keep it cool and dry. Colour and texture also shift slightly batch to batch because the fruit is natural.
